Sheer gowns are having a moment right now; from Givenchy’s introduction of them a few years back the almost-bare skin has been seen on runways and red carpets designed by all the couture houses from Ellie Saab, Zuhair Murad, and even this Prabal Gurung number on Zoe Saldana. While I ponder how to make these glam gowns work IRL, I still can’t help but lust and crave a beautiful piece. With price tags in the thousands, though, my dream was farfetched. Until I found this beauty on PinTerest; I clicked thinking “if this is under $100 I will get it”. Imagine my surprise when the price showed $31.50! Hashtag, #checkplease . Get in my closet, and someone find me an excuse to wear it!
Sequins are EXPENSIVE guys. Especially for chic, all over sequins, like the beauties seen on Ashish London’s runways. While thousand dollar price tags are obviously out of our underemployed reach, $40.99 isn’t now is it? And what is $40.99; oh just this total dupe by PersunMall. While the back isn’t sequined, the front is a delectable replica of the original.
Missoni, the Italian fashion house known for their stripes (and chevrons, and knits) isn’t known for being budget friendly. I mean, except for that one time they did a line for Target. With chevron’s coming into style at full force, why not cash in on the trend? Also trending, palazzo pants, and frugality (especially when you’re underemployed). Missoni version: $895, UEF approved dupe from Rainbow: only $14.99; which would you choose?
Jeffrey Campbell; iconic American shoe designer, prides himself on his quality yet “affordable” footwear. Sure, they’re no Loubutin’s, but with prices $150 upwards, I wouldn’t call them “budget friendly”. Caged sandals and gladiator sandals are a big spring trend, with the JC “Stinson” style a common among stylistas has been duped by everyone from Aldo to Zara. But we here at UEF are dedicated to bringing you the cheapest and chicest versions. Enter: the UrbanOG Kingston. $19.90, 10% of Jeffrey Campbell’s $195 price tag!
